Hotel Scenting in Portugal
BENDIS is a professional scenting company based in Madrid that makes its fragrances in Spain and publishes its prices. In Portugal it offers hotels and holiday rentals (alojamento local) a monthly scenting plan from €29.90 + VAT per unit, with the nebulizer and each month's fragrance included, no installation and no lock-in. Portuguese tourism has three faces and each smells different. In Lisbon and Porto, boutique hotels and holiday rentals occupy old buildings in Baixa, Alfama, Ribeira or Bonfim, with narrow stairs and thick walls that hold a stale smell between one booking and the next. In the Algarve, resorts and beach hotels in Albufeira, Vilamoura or Lagos run air conditioning from May to October and want a fresh, even scent in the lobby, spa and corridors. And in the Douro and Alentejo, quintas and rural hotels look for something warmer, of wood and wine.
The common enemy is Atlantic damp: rainy winters, ground floors without cross-ventilation and carpets that soak up smells. So in Portugal we almost always start with the neutraliser where the smell builds up (basements, windowless bathrooms, laundry) and then scent the reception and common areas. Hotels are rated by stars by Turismo de Portugal, and in a registered holiday rental the first smell when the door opens weighs as much in the review as cleanliness.

Typical example: a 30-room boutique hotel in Porto. An ORBIT in the lobby and two SENSE units in the main corridors: €124.70 + VAT a month, with all fragrance included. From three units a volume discount applies. With the monthly plan, shipping to mainland Portugal is included; if you buy, it is free from €60.
What the monthly scenting plan includes
- Professional nebulizer. Set up for the size of each area (intensity, schedules and days), ready to plug in.
- Each month's fragrance. From the BENDIS perfumery range, made in Spain, refilled monthly, change scent whenever you like.
- Neutraliser. Where there is damp or a bad smell to remove, instead of putting fragrance on top.
- No building work or technician visit. The HALO, ATMOS and NOVA attach to your existing HVAC ducts.
- No lock-in. Cancel with 30 days' notice. Volume discount from three units.
How to get started in Portugal
- Tell us about your hotel. Floor area, rooms, ducts or not, and what smell you want to create or remove. By phone (+34 911 09 70 50), WhatsApp or info@bendis.es.
- Receive the proposal. With the public rate: units, monthly fee and estimated use.
- The units arrive set up. Within 7 calendar days at most, with your chosen fragrance and 5 ml samples to confirm the scent in your own hotel.
- Fragrance arrives every month. Adjust intensity and schedules in the app and change scent whenever you like.

How much does it cost to scent a hotel in Portugal?
From €29.90 + VAT a month per unit, fragrance included. A lobby of up to 600 m² is €54.90 + VAT a month with the ORBIT, and a hotel with ducts €69.90 + VAT with the HALO. It is the BENDIS monthly scenting plan (what the industry calls scent diffuser rental), with no lock-in.
What does a holiday rental need?
For a typical tourist apartment, a SENSE in the living area (€34.90 + VAT a month) and, if the bathroom has no window, a PULSE with neutraliser (€29.90 + VAT). If it smells damp, start with the neutraliser.
Does anything need to be installed?
No. The units arrive set up with your chosen fragrance: place them and plug them in, or connect them to the ducts if the hotel has them. All advice is given remotely.
How long does delivery to Portugal take?
7 calendar days at most after confirmation, with email tracking. With the monthly plan, shipping to mainland Portugal is included.
Is the monthly plan available in the Azores and Madeira?
The monthly plan is for mainland Portugal. On the islands you can buy the equipment, with €49.90 shipping; if you are interested in the monthly plan, email info@bendis.es and we will look at it.
