Care home scenting and odour control in Porto

Short answer: in Porto, Atlantic humidity and granite buildings make urine and stuffy odours linger in a care home even when it is cleaned well. It is treated with continuous neutraliser (Jasmine in bathrooms and rooms, Aloe Vera in corridors and ground floors) and soft fragrance only at reception. From €29.90 + VAT a month per area, with diffuser, product and delivery included.

Porto gets a lot of rain from October to April and its stone buildings hold the cold and damp. Care homes in Paranhos, Bonfim, Ramalde or Foz, and across Greater Porto (Matosinhos, Maia, Vila Nova de Gaia, Gondomar), live with the stuffy smell that appears as soon as windows are shut in winter. With incontinent residents, the combination is hard and air fresheners don't fix it.

Frequently asked questions about care homes in Porto

Why does it smell more in winter?

Because there is less ventilation, laundry takes longer to dry and damp fixes odours in textiles and walls. Continuous neutraliser makes up for what can't be ventilated.

How much does it cost in Portugal?

The same as in Spain: from €29.90 + VAT a month per area, with delivery to mainland Portugal included.

Which neutraliser for urine?

Jasmine, formulated for urine, drains and rubbish. For faecal odours and dirty laundry, Cotton Fresh.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Cancel with 30 days' notice and return only the diffuser.
