Florence welcomes visitors all year round and its historic centre is made of old palazzi: hotels and historic residences between Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo and Santa Croce, with stone staircases, long corridors and rooms that hold on to that closed-up smell. In a lobby or a breakfast room, the scent is the first thing a guest remembers. It is also a city with a long perfumery tradition, and anyone walking into a boutique on via de' Tornabuoni notices it.
Then there's leather. A typical Florence example: a boutique hotel near Santa Maria Novella with a 150 m² lobby, one floor corridor and two shared bathrooms. Frequently asked questions about scenting in Florence
How much does it cost to scent a hotel in Florence?
It's worked out zone by zone and you buy each unit once: 149,90 € for the ORBIT in a lobby up to 600 m², 79,99 € for the FLOW in a corridor up to 120 m² and 72,99 € for a PULSE with neutralizer in each shared bathroom, VAT included. After that you only pay for fragrance: 34,99 € for a 250 ml refill or 31,49 € a month on subscription.
Is a room fragrance a good idea in a leather shop?
Yes, with care. The smell of leather is part of the product, so in the shop we use a soft, low note that goes along with it, or just a neutralizer in the restroom and back room. With the 5 ml samples in your first order you can test it next to your bags and jackets before deciding.
Does it work in a hotel inside a historic palazzo, without building work?
Yes. Standalone units plug in and are programmed from the app: no drilling, no cables, no permits, which is key in listed buildings. If the hotel has ducted air conditioning, the ATMOS (229,99 €) or the HALO (194,99 €) connect to it and spread the scent with no visible units.
How long does delivery to Florence take, and are there customs duties?
One week at most (7 calendar days) from order confirmation, and you get the tracking number by e-mail as soon as it ships. Italy is in the European Union, so there are no customs or duties and VAT is already included in the price you see. Shipping costs 19,90 € per parcel up to 2 kg.
Is there a monthly diffuser rental in Italy?
No. The monthly scenting plan with unit and fragrance included (what many people search for as diffuser rental) is only available in Spain and Portugal. In Italy you buy the diffuser, it's yours, and if you like you subscribe to the fragrance for 10 % less, cancel anytime.
