Programmable diffusers: setting schedules and intensity without overdoing it

Difusores programables: automatiza la aromatización de tu hogar o negocio - BENDIS

The difference between a space that smells good and one that smells odd is rarely down to the fragrance: it is down to when and how much of it is released. A well-programmed unit goes unnoticed; a badly programmed one saturates the room in the morning and has faded away by the afternoon.

This is the least glamorous part of scenting, and the part people notice most.

What you can programme

A programmable diffuser lets you set three things:

  • Time slots. When it starts and when it stops. The basics, and the most useful setting of all.
  • Intensity. How much fragrance is released with each burst.
  • Work and rest cycles. Seconds of diffusion and minutes of pause. This is what prevents saturation and what has the biggest influence on consumption.

Why it matters more than it seems

  • It prevents saturation. The sense of smell adapts within minutes: diffusing non-stop does not make a room smell stronger, it makes the people already inside stop noticing while anyone walking in finds it overwhelming. Cycles with pauses solve exactly that.
  • It controls the spend. The fragrance is the recurring cost, not the unit. Adjusting the cycles is the direct lever on how much you use each month.
  • It delivers consistency. In a business, the scent has to be the same at ten on a Monday and at eight on a Saturday. Switching the unit on by hand will never achieve that.
  • It adapts to the day. More intensity at opening and during peak hours, less in the quiet stretches, off outside business hours.

How to set it up in practice

  1. Start low. It is better to stay under and turn it up a few days later than to start strong: too much fragrance reads as an artificial smell and is hard to undo.
  2. Calibrate with an outsider. You are already used to the smell of your own premises. Ask someone walking in fresh, not someone who has been inside for eight hours.
  3. Start before you open. Half an hour of lead time so the space is ready when the first customer walks in.
  4. Review it by season. In summer the fragrance disperses faster and is perceived more strongly: the settings that work in January are too much in August.

Typical cases

  • Bedroom: gentle cycles an hour before bedtime, off overnight.
  • Reception or lobby: constant intensity throughout opening hours.
  • Restaurant: more intensity at the entrance, minimal or none in the dining area during service.
  • Toilets: short, frequent cycles all day long, because that is where the gap between cleans does the damage.
  • Office: a morning slot and an afternoon slot, with nothing at midday.

The units

Our whole range comes with schedule and intensity programming, and the models that support it are configured from the app. If you would rather see it done before touching anything, there are step-by-step videos on the tutorials page.

The specific features of each model are on its product page, inside the diffuser collection; for business, under rental from 29.90 €/month + VAT per unit with refills included and no minimum term.

If you want the criteria for choosing a model by square metres, it is in what a scent diffuser is and which one to choose.
