Few suppliers give clear prices. Here are ours, and how the cost of scenting a hotel is worked out by area and by square metres.
Why almost nobody publishes prices
If you search for "hotel scenting price" you find websites full of "request a quote" and endless forms. There are two reasons, one reasonable and one less so.
- Reasonable: every hotel is different (square metres, areas, whether there is central air conditioning) and the price genuinely varies.
- Less reasonable: with no market reference, it is easier to sell you the most expensive plan you can afford.
How the cost is worked out
The price does not depend on the hotel: it depends on the number of units and the size of each one. Every area you want to scent needs a unit sized to its square metres.
On a monthly scenting plan, each unit runs from 29.90€ to 94.90€ a month + VAT, depending on the model. That fee covers the diffuser and the fragrance, with a refill every month. No upfront investment and no minimum term.
So the maths is straightforward: count the areas, look at the square metres of each one and multiply.
Examples by hotel size
Boutique hotel of up to 20 rooms
Lobby and reception with a medium unit, plus a small one in the public toilets. Two units, roughly 60 to 130€/month + VAT.
City hotel of 20 to 60 rooms
Lobby, main corridors and public toilets. Three or four units, roughly 120 to 280€/month + VAT.
Hotel of 60 to 150 rooms
Lobby, corridors on each floor, toilets and spa, with a long-range unit or one connected to the air conditioning. Five to eight units, roughly 300 to 600€/month + VAT.
Large hotel of more than 150 rooms
Add function rooms and the restaurant. From 600€/month + VAT, with a bespoke proposal.
These are orders of magnitude, not fixed rates. The real number appears once you decide which areas you want to cover.
Buying or subscribing
You can buy the units and own them outright, with the fragrance charged separately, or take them on a monthly plan with the fragrance included. Buying works out better over the very long term if you have the capital and you are going to keep the same set-up for years. A monthly subscription works out better if you would rather not tie up cash, you want to be able to add or drop areas, or you do not yet know which configuration will work for you.
The accounting differs too: a purchase is a fixed asset you depreciate, while the monthly fee is an expense for the year.
What pushes the price up and what brings it down
It goes up if you want integration with the air conditioning, different scents by area, an exclusive fragrance for your brand or several buildings.
It comes down if you focus on the critical areas (lobby and toilets before entire corridors) and choose catalogue fragrances.
Frequently asked questions
What is included in the fee?
The diffuser and the fragrance, with a refill every month, plus technical support. There is no set-up charge.
Is there a minimum term?
No. The fee is monthly and you can change fragrance, change unit or cancel whenever you like.
Is any building work or installation needed?
No. The unit arrives configured for your square metres and with the fragrance you have chosen, and it is in place in 5 minutes. For the models that connect to the air conditioning, your maintenance team fits it to the duct following our guide.
Can I try the fragrances beforehand?
Yes, we send 5 ml samples so you can smell them in the hotel itself, which is where it is really decided.
Can I start with just part of the hotel?
That is the most common approach: lobby and toilets first, then extend if the result convinces you.
Is there special pricing for chains?
With several properties we adjust the proposal to the volume. Tell us how many there are and we will take a look.
In short
Scenting a hotel starts at around 60€/month + VAT for a small boutique and rises with areas and square metres. The unit of cost is each machine, not the hotel, so once you know your areas you can work it out yourself.
