BENDIS LUME: the diffuser with a presence sensor and level alert

El difusor inteligente que se controla solo: el futuro del aroma en el hogar con BENDIS LUME - BENDIS

In a connected home, almost everything adapts to us: the lights, the thermostat, the blinds. Scent is still the exception. The BENDIS LUME is the model in the range designed to close that gap: it covers up to 100 m² and is controlled from the app.

Presence detection

It carries a radar sensor that detects whether anyone is in the room and adjusts diffusion accordingly.

  • Scent when it is needed. You can set it to diffuse only when someone is present, which saves refill and avoids scenting an empty house.
  • No complicated schedules. There is no need to fine-tune timings room by room: the unit adapts to actual use.

It is especially useful in spaces used irregularly (a home office, a meeting room, a second home), where a fixed schedule always ends up out of step.

Level alert

The LUME has infrared level detection: it warns you when the fragrance is running low, instead of letting you find out because one day the space no longer smells of anything. In a business this is more useful than it sounds: it stops the bottle running dry on a Friday with nobody noticing until Monday.

Control from the app

Everything is set up from the BENDIS app, free for iPhone and Android: schedules, intensity, work and rest cycles, and switching on and off without touching the unit. The step-by-step video is on the tutorials page, and the full set-up criteria are in programmable diffusers.

Cold nebulisation

The LUME uses the same technology as the rest of the room range: pressurised air that breaks undiluted fragrance into a very fine particle, with no water and no heat.

  • No dilution. The scent keeps its full intensity, unlike an ultrasonic unit, where most of what comes out is water vapour.
  • No humidity and no residue. It adds no moisture to the room and leaves no deposits on surfaces or fabrics.
  • No visible mist. It is normal to see nothing coming out: the particles are too small to be seen, and they still carry the full aromatic load.

Intensity: less is more

The most common mistake at home is turning the intensity up because "I can't smell it any more". You are the one who cannot smell it, through olfactory adaptation: your brain stops processing the constant smells of your own surroundings. Your visitors can smell it, and if you have turned the intensity up, they smell it far too much.

If you want to know what your home really smells like, go out for two hours and walk straight back in.

Maintenance

Replace the refill when it is due and clean the nozzle from time to time with isopropyl alcohol. Never with water: it can clog the nebuliser.

A word of warning before scenting

If there is a source of bad odour at home (a pet, damp, a build-up of cooking smells), scent does not cover it: it mixes with it and the result is perceived as worse. There the first step is a neutralising refill, and the scent afterwards. How neutralisation works.

If you are not sure which model you need

The unit is chosen by the square metres of the room and corrected for ceiling height and ventilation. The catalogue lists the coverage of each model. And before you decide on the scent, we send you samples so that you can smell it in your own home.
