Scent diffuser maintenance: nozzle cleaning and common mistakes

Mantenimiento del difusor de aroma: limpieza de boquilla y errores frecuentes - BENDIS

A professional nebuliser is a simple device with one critical part: the nozzle. If that part clogs, the unit runs but no mist comes out, and most people assume it has broken. It almost never has.

How often to clean it

  • Light use (office, home, a few hours a day): every two or three months.
  • Commercial use (shop, restaurant, hotel): once a month.
  • Heavy use (gym, large retail space, long hours): every two or three weeks.
  • Always when changing fragrance, and before storing the unit if it is going to sit unused.

The clean, step by step

  1. Switch the unit off and disconnect it from the power supply.
  2. Remove the bottle and store the one you were using tightly closed.
  3. Fit a container of isopropyl alcohol in place of the fragrance bottle.
  4. Run the unit at maximum for a few minutes so the alcohol passes through the circuit and carries the residue away.
  5. Switch off, remove the alcohol and let it dry before fitting the fragrance again.

The exact procedure for your model, with the nozzle position and the type of connector, is on the manuals page and in the video tutorials.

What never to do

  • Put water through the circuit. Water does not dissolve the residue and it can stay inside.
  • Poke the nozzle with a pin or a needle. It deforms the opening and the unit never nebulises the same way again.
  • Mix two fragrances in the same bottle.
  • Refill an empty bottle with another brand's product without cleaning the circuit first.
  • Leave the unit standing for months with product inside.

Signs it needs cleaning

The unit makes its usual noise but no mist appears, the mist is weaker than normal, the scent registers less even though you have not changed the settings, or product consumption has dropped for no reason.

And if it still will not run

Check that the suction tube reaches the bottom of the bottle and is not kinked, that the bottle is screwed on properly and that there is enough product in it. If nothing changes after the clean and those checks, write to us at info@bendis.es with the model and we will tell you how to proceed.
