The beauty of a waterless essential oil diffuser lies not only in its ability to distribute a pure, undiluted aroma, but also in its remarkable simplicity of maintenance. With no water reservoir to clean and no humid conditions, upkeep is incredibly straightforward.
While a little routine care is essential, you'll be glad to know it's not a daily chore. We recommend cleaning your BENDIS diffuser every 1-3 months, depending on usage frequency and oil types.
Part 1: Your Essential Cleaning Kit
- Rubbing Alcohol (90% or higher): The most effective cleaning agent. It dissolves essential oil residues quickly and evaporates without a trace.
- A Soft Cloth or Paper Towel: For cleaning the exterior of the device.
Part 2: The 5-Step Cleaning Process
Step 1: Prepare the Atomizer
Unscrew the essential oil bottle from the atomizer head and pour any remaining oil back into its original container. Never use water for cleaning; it can clog the atomizer.
Step 2: Add Alcohol
Pour 5-10 ml of rubbing alcohol into the empty bottle. This acts as a solvent that will remove any oil residue.
Step 3: Run the Diffuser
Screw the bottle with alcohol back on and turn on the diffuser for about 10 minutes. The alcohol will circulate through the system, cleaning the atomizer and the mist outlet.
Step 4: Empty and Dry
Turn off the device, empty any remaining alcohol, and let the bottle and atomizer air dry for a few minutes.
Step 5: Refill and Enjoy
Your diffuser is clean and ready. Refill it with your preferred oil and once again enjoy a pure and powerful aroma.
Part 3: Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using Water for Cleaning: Never use water in the nebulizing nozzle. Always use rubbing alcohol.
- Forgetting to Clean: Skipping cleaning can lead to clogs and reduced performance.
- Using Harsh Chemicals: These can compromise the purity of the aroma. Use only rubbing alcohol.
