Inside the walls, accommodation is in stone houses and palaces that are centuries old: narrow stairs, thick walls, little light on the ground floors and a damp smell that appears as soon as the building is shut for a few days. Many are holiday apartments that change guests every few days, and the first impression when the door opens weighs on the review. Outside the old town, in Ploce, Lapad and Babin Kuk, are the large sea-view hotels with spacious lobbies and ducted air conditioning, and in Cavtat, beach hotels and villas.
The weather matters too. The jugo, the south wind, brings humid, salty air that gets into fabrics and wardrobes; in winter the bura is dry and cold. Frequently asked questions about scenting in Dubrovnik
How much does it cost to scent a holiday apartment or a hotel in Dubrovnik?
An apartment up to 80 m² is covered by a SENSE for 89,99 €, and each windowless bathroom by a PULSE with neutralizer for 72,99 €. In a hotel, the lobby takes an ORBIT (up to 600 m², 149,99 €) or, if there are ducts, a HALO (up to 800 m², 194,99 €). VAT included and paid once; after that you only pay for fragrance.
Can it be used on a yacht or a charter boat?
Yes, with the boat moored and in cabins or indoor saloons with a power socket. For a cabin, a ROAM (59,99 €); for the heads, a PULSE with neutralizer. Place it somewhere fixed where it can't tip over and switch it off from the app while sailing.
What do I do about the damp smell in stone buildings?
Neutralize first, then perfume. A neutralizer on the ground floors and in the bathrooms removes the closed-up smell the jugo leaves behind; once the space smells clean, a soft fragrance at low intensity. Putting perfume straight on top of damp only mixes smells.
How long does delivery to Dubrovnik take, and are there customs duties?
One week at most (7 calendar days) from order confirmation, and you get the tracking number by e-mail as soon as it ships.
