This is the reference unit for a restaurant, a shop or a mid-sized office. It uses about 250 ml of fragrance a month, exactly one bottle.

Where the break-even point is
For the FLOW, between the fourth and fifth month; for the SENSE, which uses less, from the third. It makes sense: the unit pays for itself quickly because the device is not the expensive part, the fragrance is, and you pay for that in both options.
If someone tells you a monthly plan is cheaper than buying, either the unit is overpriced when bought or the plan includes services you won't use.
So when does the monthly plan pay off?
When you don't want an upfront outlay. With several venues, buying ten units at once is a cash-flow spike. The plan turns it into a running, deductible monthly cost.
When you are not sure the scent is right. With the plan you can change fragrance every month without buying bottles that end up sitting in the storeroom.
When the venue is temporary or you are testing. A pop-up, a stand, a season. The plan is cancelled with 30 days' notice and you are not left holding anything.
When you don't want to manage restocking. The fragrance arrives every month without anyone having to remember to order it.
And when buying pays off
When the venue is yours and is staying put. After the first year, buying is clearly cheaper and the device is yours.
When consumption is low. A toilet with a PULSE uses about 50 ml a month: a 150 ml bottle lasts three months. There, the plan has no financial advantage.
When you want to control the scent yourself. Buy the unit and choose from the fragrance list with no strings attached.
